VETERAN pintoppler Joshua Disuacido emerged champion as the Datba weekly tournament resumed at the SM Lanang Premier Bowling Center over the weekend.

Disuacido, whose handicap is 15, struck for a total of 611 pinfalls after three games to win the title and earn a monthly finals berth.

He also received a cash prize of P1,200, while next two placers, Virgilio "Billy" Magdale and Ronald Martin, claimed P600 and P400, respectively.

Magdale, with a handicap of 25, rolled 582 pins for the runner-up honors while Martin, with 30 handicap, garnered 556 pinfalls in the event organized by the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba).

A total of 22 players joined the weekly tournament.

The weekly qualifying was set to resume Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, Datba recently held a youth clinic from April that attracted some 25 participants at the SM Lanang Premier Bowling Center with Datba youth coach Ralph Martin as instructor.

Datba president Rameses Tancontian said tenpin bowling students ranged from nine to 19 years old and some were students from Ateneo de Davao University, Precious International School of Davao and University of the Immaculate Conception.
