Election materials arrive in Bacolod

SOME of the election paraphernalia for the May 13 elections were delivered to Bacolod City on Saturday, May 4.

City Treasurer Giovanni Balalilhe said Tuesday they received about 353 ballot boxes, envelops, band papers and some other election paraphernalia to be used by the Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs).

The materials came from the central office of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Balalilhe said the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO), being under the Department of Finance, is deputized by Comelec to handle the custody, safekeeping and distribution of the election paraphernalia.

He said the election paraphenalia were placed at Bacolod Arts and Youth Center (Bayscenter).

CTO’s personnel as well as uniformed personnel of Bacolod City Police Office were already deployed at Bayscenter to secure the election paraphernalia.

Balalilhe added that they are also waiting the delivery of official ballots which is expected to be delivered in Bacolod Wednesday, May 8. (MAP)
