2 killed, 1 injured in separate shooting incidents

TWO persons were killed in separate shooting incidents in the cities of San Carlos and Kabankalan.

On May 5, around 10:35 a.m. at Ylgan Extension, Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, unidentified suspects shot the victim identified as Elrico Campigan, 41, a resident of San Carlos City.

Police report said that while the victim was walking along the small alley when he was shot by unidentified person, hitting him on the different parts of his body that caused his untimely death.

Recovered from the crime scene is one slug of cal.38 revolver. The cadaver of the victim was brought to Garden of saints and was examined by Dr. Arnel Lawrence Portuguez while the unidentified person fled to an unknown direction after the incident happened.

Another shooting incident happened at around 7:30 A.M, the same day at National Highway, Brgy. Binicuil, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental. Two unidentified persons reportedly shoot the victim identified as Joel Traiso alias Jojo, 44 years old and resident of Brgy. Daan Banwa, Kabankalan City.

Police reports said that while the victim was driving his tricycle from South to North direction to Brgy. Binicuil, Kabankalan City with one passenger on board, two unidentified persons riding a red motorcycle wearing bonnet tailed them; the back rider drew a pistol and shot the driver three times. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of his body and was brought to Lorenzo D Zayco District Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by duty Physician Lucia Hugos.

Recovered from the crime scene were three (3) fired cartridge cases of caliber 45.

Also On May 5, 2019 at around 10:20 PM another shooting incident happened at Purok Mainabyanon, Brgy. Patag, Silay City, Negros Occidental. Estimated distance from the Police Station to the Place of Incident is more or less forty five (45) Kilometers.

The suspect identified as Edward Jopson, 49 years old of Brgy. Patag, Silay City, Negros Occidental shoot the victim identified as Randy Batolino, 46 years old, resident of Brgy. Patag, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

Police report said that victim went to a house under construction to check for the construction materials and without apparent reason was shot by the suspect two (2) times. The victim sustained injuries on the different parts of his body and was immediately brought to Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital, Silay City for treatment. The suspect voluntarily surrendered to Brgy Tanod Commander Alexander Bangwanga.( TDE)
