FOR THE 10th consecutive year, Parkmall will be staging the biggest and most diverse pet event in the country, the Pet Festival Philippines, on May 16 to 26.
Just like its previous runs, the event aims to bring together pets and pet lovers, celebrate their bond and promote responsible pet ownership.
For the Pet Festival Philippines 2019, Parkmall has partnered with over 30 pet clubs and will welcome more than 10 kinds of pets including dogs, birds, snakes, rabbits, fish, hamsters, iguanas and bearded dragons.
This year also marks the 10th year of Parkmall’s pet runway competition, the Pawshionista. Themed “Fiesta Filipinas,” Pawshionista 2019 will feature pets and their owners in costumes based on the Philippine festivals assigned to them. The pageant-type show will take place on May 19.
In partnership with the Philippine Dog Agility Association and K9 Care (Cebu Agility Run Enthusiast), Parkmall will also host the fourth Philippine Dog Sport Championship on May 25 to 26, gathering up to 80 dog lovers from Cebu, Manila and other provinces.
Other activities to look forward to are the All-Breed Fun Match on May 18, Pet Adventure Plus on May 19The Pet Festival Philippines will also host a number of exciting activities, including the All-Breed Fun Match on May 18, open to all breeds and ages and the Pet Adventure Plus on May 19 where teams of three pets and pet handlers will take on obstacle courses.
An open forum called PETucation (pet education) will cover topics on animal welfare, responsible pet ownership and pet health care. It will be facilitated by representatives from the Mandaue City Veterinary Clinic, Island Rescue Organization, Bureau of Animal Industry and Animal Wellness Veterinary Clinic on May 17.
To complete the event is the Parade of Pets, a festive march of pets and their humans around the mall premises.
Take advantage of the free anti-rabies vaccinations that the Mandaue City Veterinary Clinic will be offering to pets of Mandaue City residents. The Island Rescue Organization (IRO), Pet Festival Philippines' beneficiary, will also have a pet adoption on May 16 to 19.
Parkmall is the only mall in Cebu that is accredited by the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI). That means the entire property is safe for pets.
