THE Marian Festival organized by an elite group of image owners here attracted dozens of Marian devotees and lay faithful on Sunday, May 5.
The Parochial Marian Exhibit of Virgen Delos Remedios Parish organized by Marian enthusiasts in Pampanga’s 2nd District is hosting as six-day event of antique and newly commissioned Marian images at the parish’s multipurpose building from May 5 to 10.
The exhibit which was aimed at educating people on the different venerated titles and images of Mary resulted in the patronage of parishioners and schools in the area.
“We had to extend our viewing time to accommodate them,” said King Mariano, one of the organizers of the exhibit.
Sotto added that this year’s first-ever exhibit was the most successful event that their group, the Camderos Ning Parokya Ning Virgen Delos Remedios, had organized so far, with more than 20 images participating in the exhibit.
“We are very thankful that collectors and image owners had participated,” Mariano said, adding that most of the images on exhibit are of great value, a couple of which are even antique heirlooms from grand old families in the district.
The event will culminate in a grand procession of all participating images on May 12.
