CHARGES of attempted kidnapping and frustrated homicide were filed against former Sto. Tomas mayor Romeo “Ninong” Ronquillo and five others before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor here on Monday, May 6.

Complainant Reynaldo Galang, 54, alleged that Ronquillo and his aides, whom he was not able to identify, came to his house on the morning of April 27, Saturday, and immediately ganged up on him when he opened the door.

Galang, a resident of Barangay San Matias, pointed to politics as the possible motive behind the alleged attack since he supports reelectionist Mayor John Sambo.

Ronquillo’s wife Gloria “Ninang” Ronquillo is challenging Sambo.

Galang said he filed a case against Ronquillo, one Jojit Pineda and four John Does to let the truth come out about the “senseless attack” against him.

“Buri ku mung lunto ing katutwan talaga. Ala naku man balung gewang marok karela pero penasakit da ku (I just want the truth to come out. I do not remember doing anything wrong to them but they attacked me),” he said.

Before filing a legal case, Galang filed a blotter report at the Sto. Tomas Police Station on Saturday morning, May 4, after he secured a medico-legal report.

Sun.Star Pampanga was able to reach Ronquillo through phone but he declined to give a statement as of Wednesday afternoon, May 8.
