Capitol preps sanction against employee busted for drugs

THE Provincial Government is now preparing for the appropriate sanction against a permanent employee who was arrested in a drug bust operation by the Philippine National Police.

The employee was identified as Francisco Nuñal who was arrested along with two other suspects in Purok Balinday, Barangay 2, Bacolod City over the weekend.

Seized from the suspects were suspected shabu worth P150,000, drug paraphernalia and a homemade .45 caliber pistol.

Nuñal was considered a high-value drug target and was one of the subjects of the operations of the Bacolod City Police Office.

Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea revealed that lawyer Annabelle Palic, Head of the Provincial Human Resource Office is now preparing for the sanction.

The said employee holds a permanent position assigned at the Provincial Accounting Office.

The employee could be dismissed or removed from service, depending on the case based on police action.

If the said employee would be negative for use of illegal drugs he will be advised to undergo drug rehabilitation at his own expense. That is regardless of the charges hurled against him by the police, Gelvolea added.

Gelvolea said the previous incident involving two Capitol employees who were tested positive for use of illegal drugs was already dealt with accordingly by the province.

One of the two employees voluntarily resigned while the other one is still undergoing drug rehabilitation, Gelvolea added. (TDE)
