Vicente: Monopoly in sports

COMPETITIVE sports requires training preparations and a lot of patching up of loop holes that could sprout as the training progresses or even during the competition itself, one must know and understand that trainings has its own time to be effective. Athletes train to compete primarily with the goal of winning but without the assurance of attaining it the first time, sometimes it could take training-

competing-training-competing-training-competing etc. before training-winning could be achieved.

Many new athletes get frustrated in the first taste of defeat but for some athletes who are properly guided by mentors, defeat becomes a part of training and preparation for a bigger competition.

According to a regarded and respected coach, defeat should always be a motivation for athletes and should not be a reason for frustration and that is when coaches, trainers and mentors comes in to work their magic to enhance the emotional state of the athlete to be inspired to go back to training with the new lessons in consideration.

As the saying goes, “it is lonely at the top” for those who are hyped and overwhelmed with victory. There is no other way but down. The best attitude of an athlete even if you are the champion is humility, and

with it, lessons are easily acquired because of having an open mind to be the best is getting everyone to be in the same circle of winners so that you will have someone to push you to be better than your best, otherwise your skill will have to succumb to a plateau state, being challenged every.

Time is part of an athletes’ journey to greatness without challenge skills and or talents halt, without challenge feats continuity is cut.

Selfishness is a bad attitude for sports. Sports community should be populated by sports Gods and should not be ruled by just sports, because if everyone has greatness in them, it expounds skills in everyone, but if lone greatness exists, competition does not exist, thus improvements and developments of talents will not progress.

Monopoly in sports should stop in order to unearth talented athletes without exclusion of possible greatness. It is pure selfishness to manipulate and prevent other athletes or team to favor your own.
