Where to treat your moms?

THIS Sunday will be a special one as we celebrate Mother's Day. I'm sure that many of you are looking for some place to treat your moms for a special meal over the weekend. The SunStar Davao team and columnists have come up with places where you can take your moms for a nice brunch, lunch, merienda, or dinner.

Rekado

(Emilio Jacinto Extension)

“Rekado’s mother-daughter team of Lena Benedicto and Pauline Malilin has comfort food winners on their menu. Have the Tofu and Mushroom Sisig to start, Boneless Crispy Pata as main course and Ube and Langka Turon for dessert,” Jinggoy Salvador, Of apples and lemons/Jeepney Jinggoy.

Kalye't Kusina

(Pelayo Compound, J.Camus Ext. Corner, J. Abad Santos St.)

“A recent discovery of mine, Kalye't Kusina serves delicious comfort food that will leave with happy tummies after having a meal here. Generous serving and reasonably priced, this will be your go to place for a value-for-money and delicious feast. Their Honey Garlic Chicken is a must try! It is sweet, savory, and garlicky. Yum!” RJ Lumawag, SunStar Davao Editor-in-chief.

Out of Nowhere Kitchen

(Lanang branch: Dona Alegre Street, Lanang, Mamay Rd.

Torres branch: Voyager St. (Near Star Hotel and Nanay Bebeng's))

“Out of Nowhere is a nice restaurant with good service. They serve meals and dessert too. I like the shrimp gambas to deviate from the usual rice and viand meal,” Andrea Isabelle Mejos, Beauty Hunter.

Mia Figlia Pasta

(Corner Mabini and Mariner Streets)

“If you are in for authentic European cuisine, Mia Figlia Pasta can definitely satisfy your cravings. Their Italian pasta recipes and French-style chicken are to die for. And I must say, the herbs they use add more flavor to whatever meal they offer,” Jenny Molbog-Mendoza, Fashion Nook/Showblitz, Etc.

RBG at Park Inn Hotel Davao

(At the back of SM Lanang Premier, J.P. Laurel Ave.)

“If you feel like celebrating Mother’s Day with a summer a twist, head on to RBG at Park Inn Hotel Davao as the hotel offers an Aloha-themed party. For this tropical feast, don’t miss its Piña colada pastries!” Ace Perez, SunStar Davao Social Media Editor.

Misto at Seda Abreeza

(Abreeza Ayala Business Park, J.P. Laurel Avenue)

“Seda Abreeza has mom and executive sous chef, Bang Flores-Sibala, running the kitchen. Along with the all-time favorite Angus Roast Beef that will make an appearance on Mother’s Day lunch, must-haves on this date are the Bruschetta Pasta Salad and Grilled Mushroom Salad to start, Mussels with Tomatoes from the main dishes, and the Mango Charlotte from the dessert spread,” Jinggoy Salvador, Of apples and lemons/Jeepney Jinggoy.

Yolks Flower Cafe + Cupcakery

(Circumferential Road)

“My personal favorite is their black pizza and gourmet tuyo pasta. With their black pizza, you can really taste the flavor of the crust. Usually, I base my comments about a pizza on how the crust tastes. Meanwhile, their gourmet tuyo pasta is a perfect fusion of flavors. The saltiness of the gourmet tuyo blends perfectly with the freshly-made sauce. The restaurant’s ambience is another major reason to visit the place,” Jenny Molbog-Mendoza, Fashion Nook/Showblitz, Etc.

5s Box Indian Restaurant

(Dr. Gahol Ave., near DMSF)

“It will be a flavorful adventure for your family when you spend mother's day here. The restaurant offers great Indian dishes that will satisfy your inner foodie. I recommend a personal favorite of mine, the Butter Chicken!” RJ Lumawag, SunStar Davao Editor-in-chief.

Republique Asian Fusion

(Arcadia Active Lifestyle Center, Col. Emilio Escandor St., along Quimpo Blvd.)

“If you are looking for an Asian Fusion lunch buffet treat for your mother, Republique Asian Fusion is a good consideration. For only P550 per head you can already gift your mom with a hearty and heavenly feast she deserves. When dining here and since its summer, I recommend trying their Arcadia Sunset,” Ace Perez, SunStar Davao Social Media Editor.

DimYum Davao

(Corner Sobrecarey and Loyola Sts., Obrero)

“If you want to have a taste of several Asian cuisines, DimYum Davao is your best option. Their menu makes you drool for a number of all-time favorites. Personally, I am a fan of their laksa and matcha buchi. There is still a bunch of choices in their menu that my family surely loves to order everytime we are there,” Jenny Molbog-Mendoza, Fashion Nook/Showblitz, Etc.
