647 Baguio-Benguet VCMs undergo final testing, sealing

LA TRINIDAD, BENGUET -- A few days before the May 13 Elections, some 647 vote counting machines (VCMs) in Baguio City and Benguet Province is scheduled to undergo final testing and sealing (FTS).

Commission on Elections in Benguet Provincial Elections Supervisor Nicasio Jacob said towns of Itogon, Kibungan, and Kabayan started their FTS on May 9 in the different polling centers while Baguio City and the remaining 10 towns of Benguet was held May 10.

The Comelec official added FTS of the different vote counting machines was finished at 2pm.

Jacob said as part of the FTS procedure, 10 will cast their votes in the polling centers followed by manual counting and compare the results produced by the machines.

La Trinidad election officer lawyer Rodante Selpaten on Friday added 57 VCMs were dispatched in the 57 clustered precincts within the 16 barangays of the town.

Selpaten also notified municipal board of canvassers to meet on Monday at Lednicky Hall for the consolidation and canvassing system and canvass the electronically transmitted election results.

Voting starts at 6 a.m., he added.
