BACOLOD City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran has expressed gratitude to President Rodrigo Duterte for endorsing him for May 13 elections.

In a video posted on social media, Duterte said “There is one person l want to help to become vice mayor. He is a good person who has no involvement in corruption or illegal drugs. He is hard working and his name is El Cid.”

The President asked the public to help Familiaran whom he is also supporting.

Familiar said it’s a great honor and privilege to be endorsed by the President of the country.

“Thousands of candidates are running all over the country and I’m one of the few that were endorsed by the President. I was surprised about it and I’m very happy. Thank you so much President Duterte for the trust and endorsement,” he said.

President Duterte earlier visited Moises Padilla town and it was also the time that he endorsed Familiaran.

“Usually, the President used to endorse senators, congressman, mayor, and I don’t know how many of us in vice mayor were endorsed by the President,” Familiaran said.

Through the endorsement of Duterte, Familiaran said that it’s a big help on his political campaign.

Familiaran added that the trust rating of President Duterte is so high so his endorsement is a plus factor on his campaign. (MAP)
