Students showcase inventions

STUDENTS of Saint Louis University (SLU) showcased their inventions Wednesday during their third Research and Inventions Week.

Among the inventions were equipment and devices to facilitate drying rice and corn, monitor the water level in tanks and dams, short messaging services security system in residential units and egg incubator.

Researches on redesigning some of landmarks in Baguio and other infrastructure in the region were also exhibited at SLU’s main campus.

The Colleges of Nursing, Engineering and Architecture have also presented cosmetics from native herbs found in the Philippines.

Among the newly invented products of the College of Natural Sciences launched Wednesday were the Melliderm Propolis Cream, VITEXFlam Lagundi Liniment, Piperiderm Piperbetle Cream, Ricardii’s Honey Wine, and Jessie’s Rose Petal Tea.

The 3rd Research and Inventions Week serves as a manifestation of SLU’s role as a research university. It is annually organized and coordinated by the Research, Extension and Publications Office. (Rimaliza Opiña)
