Tell it to SunStar: Tokhang children

FIFTY-SEVEN children have already been killed by the administration’s war on drugs based on the documentation work of the Children’s Rehabilitation Center (CRC). Their mothers’ hearts ache as we celebrated and commemorated Mother’s Day. Sunday May 12, was supposed to be a day full of smiles and celebration, but there were mothers and wives who faced the day with grief because they couldn’t celebrate it with their children and/or spouses killed by the war on drugs.

The Children’s Rehabilitation Center has recorded 57 children as victims of thje war on drugs. This means that almost 57 mothers are grieving and calling for justice for their children. However, justice is elusive for these mothers as the government continues to justify this war versus the poor with impunity.

The war on drugs is war against the poor. The government has proven that they are only targeting the poor in this war, while big drug lords were released from detention.
