Roxas: KDF conducts another free eye surgery mission

THE Kapampangan Development Foundation (KDF) conducted this week another four-day cataract/pterygium surgical mission at the Jesus A. Datu Medical Center (JADMC) in San Vicente, Bacolor, Pampanga for 71 indigent patients.

This brought to 468 cataract and 78 pterygium poor patients all over Pampanga who benefited under the continuing free cataract surgery program of KDF in cooperation with Clark Development Corp. (CDC), Central Luzon Society of Opthalmologists (CELSO), Rotary Clubs of Pampanga, Jose B. Lingad Regional Memorial Hospital, Ospital Ning Angeles (ONA), and Social Action Center of Pampanga (SACOP).

Minimum cost for cataract surgery per eye is P42,000, which may reach to P141,000 depending on the condition of the patient. The JMCMC was constructed by the non-stock Datu Angeles David Memorial Foundation Inc. (DADMFI) for P18 million.

CDC and DADMFI have entered into a MOA to operate the center in promoting the KDF social and health services program.

Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) President and CEO Victor Jose I. Luciano has been selected by the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Alumni Achievement Award, or the Triple A, this year for his excellent achievements that resulted in the development of the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA).

AIM president Edilberto de Jesus congratulated Luciano for having been chosen as one of this year’s winners of the AIM Alumni Achievement Award or the Triple A.

Luciano was congratulated for his exemplary degree of personal excellence and achievements in his chosen field, and his contributions to uplift the less privileged members of the society is indeed worthy of emulation by the AIM community as a whole”

De Jesus said “your leadership, service and commitment to excellence are an admirable example of AIM alumni’s best. Thank you so much for carrying the torch of management excellence.”

For his part, Luciano said “It is an honor to be a recipient of this prestigious award from the Asian Institute of Management.”

Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Director Francisco Villanueva said “Luciano has shown exemplary and effective leadership especially in steering the development of DMIA as the next Premier International Gateway of the country.”

Villanueva said “Luciano has shown exemplary performance in making DMIA as one of the busiest airports in the country today, and I congratulate him for a job well done.”

Luciano will receive the award today (Friday) at 6pm at the Stephen Fuller Hall AIM Building in Makati City.
