Votes canvassing in Magalang town delayed

MAGALANG, Pampanga -- Canvassing of votes in this agricultural town was delayed after 19 vote counting machines VCMs malfunctioned.

As of Tuesday, May 14, the Commission on Elections local office has resumed the tallying of votes coming from several villages including Balitucan, San Ildefonso, San Nicolas, Mandani, Santo Rosario, San Isidro and others.

Mayoralty candidate Romulo Pecson is leading by more than 200 votes against re-electionist Mayor Malu Lacson as of yesterday.

Pecson of Partido Federal Ng Pilipinas earned 20,529 votes and Lacson of Kambilan Party has 20,318 as of the previous tally.

Supporters of both camps were prevented from entering the municipal hall to give way for the counting.
