2 most wanted in Kalinga fall

TWO OF the 10 most wanted persons (MWP) of Kalinga province were arrested by authorities on Tuesday, May 14.

Leslie Alicog Pannogan, 47, single, a small-scale miner and a resident of Middle Balatoc, Pasil, Kalinga, was arrested for the crime of murder in Barangay Lower Uma, Lubuagan, Kalinga.

Pannogan was the number one most wanted person in the province. No bail was recommended for him.

He was arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marcelino Wacas of the Regional Trial Court Branch 25, 2nd Judicial Region in Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

According to a police report, the suspect was tracked down and captured by combined personnel of Pasil and Lubuagan Municipal Police Stations, 2nd Kalinga Provincial Force Mobile Company, Regional Intelligence Division – Police Regional Office Cordillera (RID-PROCOR), RIU(Regional Intelligence Unit) 14, Kalinga Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Provincial Field Unit (CIDG-PFU), and Kalinga Highway Patrol Group.

Ronnie Gongob Dangiwan, 36, the seventh most wanted person in the province, was arrested in his residence for violation of Republic Act 10591, known as the "Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act".

Dangiwan is a farmer and a resident of Barangay Wagud, Pinukpuk, Kalinga. Bail is recommended at P100,000.

He was arrested on the basis of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Jerson Angog of RTC Branch 25, 2nd Judicial Region, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

Dangiwan was arrested by personnel of Provincial Intelligence Bureau of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office PIB/KPPO, Pinukpuk MPS, 1st Kalinga Provincial Force Mobil Command (KPFMC), RID, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) 14, Kalinga CIDG-PFU Kalinga and HPG-PFU Kalinga.

Three other wanted persons were arrested for various offenses.

Brigadier General Israel Ephraim Dickson, PRO-COR regional director, lauded the members of the operating units for making the arrests even though they were exhausted after the elections.
