THE staff of Angeles City Mayor-elect Carmelo Lazatin Jr. went around Angeles City on May 15 to clean up left-over campaign materials, posters, and other election propaganda posted in various locations.

Two teams consisting of seven members each were deployed to clean up the election propaganda along major roads -- one team started out from Arayat Boulevard in Barangay Pampang, while another team started out along Friendship Highway.

The move came after Lazatin’s official proclamation on May 14 at the New Legislative Building, City Hall, alongside his running mate and Vice Mayor-elect Ma. Vicenta Vega-Cabigting.

Following his proclamation, Lazatin expressed his heartfelt gratitude toward his supporters and called for unity, urging Angeleños to clear partisan political lines and work together for the development of the city.

“Sa lahat ng sumuporta sa akin at sa Team Lazatin, sa lahat ng naniwala, sa lahat ng nagtiwala, maraming maraming salamat po sa inyo,” he said. “Ing tagumpe ayni, para ya kekatamungan.”

Lazatin came first in the race for Angeles City mayor with a total of 59,192 votes.

For his platform, Lazatin had presented his Six-Point Agenda, focusing on improving public services, especially public health and education, improving the city’s solid-waste management and infrastructure, promoting youth and sports development, and making Angeles a “drug-cleared” city.

Also joining Lazatin and Vega-Cabigting in the proclamation were two councilors-elect from Team Lazatin -- Arvin Suller and Marino Bañola.
