KAPUSO star Gelli de Belen said she was not able to attend her niece's birthday due to prior commitments.
Last January 23, Inah, the daughter of Janice de Belen with former husband John Estrada, celebrated her 18th birthday, which was attended by close showbiz and non-showbiz friends.
The no-show of both Janice and Gelli in the event was very much talked about that week. During the party, Inah said her mom wasn't able to come because she needed to finish work.
In an interview with Sun.Star, Gelli said Janice has her own reasons for not coming to the event and she doesn't want to further comment on the issue.
“Kasi hindi nila alam ang mga pangyayari kaya huwag na silang maghusga dahil hindi naman nila alam. Hayaan na natin si Janice, karapatan nya yun.”
Gelli said she was really set to attend Inah’s party, but it was her first taping day for "Panday Kids."
“I was really going (party), but it was my first taping day for Panday Kids. Inah knows that,” she added.
Though she wasn't able to come, Gelli’s two sons and husband Ariel Rivera were able to attend the party on her behalf.
When asked on her relationship with John right now, Gelli, without any hesitation, said its much better than before.
“Kung ano man ang meron kami ni John, sa amin na lang iyon. Pero okay kami ni John, nag-uusap kami pag nagkikita kami.”
Meanwhile, Gelli is among the casts of “Panday Kids” that is topbilled by Robert “Buboy” Villar with newbies Julian Trono and Sabrina Man. It is aired over the GMA 7. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
