Man shot dead in Toboso

A MAN dies in a shooting incident in Sitio Minasu-Ang, Barangay Tabun-ac, Toboso, Negros Occidental.

The victim was identified as Romey Canete, 43, and a resident of the said barangay.

Based on the investigation of the Toboso Police Station, the victim came from a fiesta in Sitio Minasug-ang. While he was walking, an unidentified person shot him using a Cal. 45 of firearm hitting him in different parts of his body.

The victim was brought to Vicente Gustilo District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by his attending physician Dr. Dean Cyril Y. Catot. The cadaver of the victim was brought to Niniel Funeral Homes.

Recovered from the crime scene were seven pieces of Cal. 45 empty shells and four pieces of slugs.

Meanwhile, a dead body was found in Barangay General Luna, Toboso.

The victim was identified as Juan Lumansang, 71, and a resident of the said barangay.

Police Investigation showed that the victim was last seen on Monday, May 13, by bystanders. Further investigation showed that the victim was homeless and wandering within the vicinity of Barangay Poblacion, Municipality of Toboso.

Based on ocular investigation of the police, it showed that the body of the victim was already in the stage of decomposition and the family member of said victim decided to bury the cadaver immediately because of its foul odor. (TDE)
