Winning politicians proclaimed in CAR

THIS year’s midterm elections brought surprises not only on the national scene but at the local front with some political stalwarts in the region loosing while others retained their position.

Siblings Elias Bulut Jr. and Eleanore Bulut-Begtang were the biggest winner in this year’s midterm election after running unopposed as Congressman and Governor for Apayao province.

Bulut and Begtang switched places after completing their term while Remy Albano who was also running unopposed returns as vice governor.

Members of the Board for District 1 are Samuela Agnas, Tolentino Mangalao, Shirley Romero and Anton Talimbatog, while District 2 was led by Mailah Hayley Ballesteros, Emilliano Galleon, Mcleen Julian and Elmer Molina.

In Abra, the Provincial Electoral Board of Canvassers on Tuesday proclaimed Joseph Sto. Niño Bernos, Maria Jocelyn Bernos and Ronald Balao-as as the winning candidates for congressman, governor, and vice-governor, respectively, of this province.

Also proclaimed were District 1 board members Leonard Andanan, Antonio Dayag, Rudy dela Paz, and Arturo Gayao while District 2 was led by Allan Seares, Byrone Alzate, Patrocinio Abaya and Gina Jenkins.

In Ifugao Province, Atty. Solomon Chungalao returns as the province’ representative while Jerry Dalipog and Glenn Prudenciano defeated their respective rivals to top the gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial race.

Proclaimed Ifugao’s Board Members for District 1 were Ceasario Cabbigat, Josel Guyguyon, Agustin Calya-en and Geronimo Bimohya while in District 2 were Orlando Addug followed by Perfecta Dulnuan, Noli Maguiwe and Clemente Bongtiwon.

In Kalinga Province, incumbent Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang retains his post after beating incumbent Governor Jocel Baac while Incumbent Tabuk City Mayor Ferdinand Tubban won in the gobernatorial race while Dave Odiem was elected as vice governor.

Winning Board Members for District 1 were Christian Pic-it, Shirlynne Dasayon-Alunday, and Emilio Kitongan Roger Saga-oc, while the second district was led by Fred Pangsiw, Mark Diasen, Lester Tarnate and Antonio Bakilan.

In Mountain Province, Maximo Dalog Jr. was voted as the province lone representative in the Lower House with Bonifacio Lacwasan retaining his post as governor with Francis Tauli as vice governor.

Board members who made it for District 1 are Federico Onsat, Janice Liban, Alexandre Claver and Joshua Fronda while District 2 are Henry Bastian Jr. led the Board Members followed by Donato Danglose, Salvador Dalang and Randy Awisan.
