Sibugay employees receive mid-year bonus

THE Provincial Government of Zamboanga Sibugay released starting Wednesday, May 15, the 2019 mid-year bonus of the 764 employees in that province.

Zamboanga Sibugay Governor Wilter Palma said each employee received mid-year bonus equivalent to one-month basic salary.

However, Palma said entitled to receive bonus are those who had been in service for four months already and with satisfactory rating for the last grading period.

Palma said the mid-year bonus will be subjected to the provisions of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (Train) Law.

A memorandum circular of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) stated that government employees including “regular, casual, contractual in nature, appointive or even elective, full-time or part-time” are entitled to a mid-year bonus equivalent to one month basic salary.

The governor personally distributed the pay-slip of the one-month mid-year bonus as he expressed his gratitude to the employees for giving him fresh mandate to serve as the local chief executive.

Palma is set to serve on his third term in office starting June 30, this year, as he was proclaimed on Wednesday as the winner in the gubernatorial race on Monday’s mid-term polls. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
