More than P700,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod drug busts

AN ESTIMATED P775,300 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized in separate drug-bust operations conducted by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) over the weekend.

At about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, May 19, operatives of Police Station 1 led by Police Major Jovil Sedel neutralized the suspects Noli Mabasa, 27, and Romel Sua, 37, both residents of Barangay Villamonte.

Sedel said the suspects were caught selling shabu to a police undercover at Corner Gonzaga-Gatuslao Street, Barangay 12.

Police recovered from their possession 12 sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P70, 000, the P300 marked money and drugs paraphernalia.

Sedel said Mabasa was identified as street level target while Sua was considered as high value target in Barangay Villamonte.

At about 4:32 a.m. of the same day, operatives of Police Station 4 also arrested Lorwin Dimos, 31, and Daryn Jimena, 40, of Barangay Villamonte.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession nine sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P49, 800, the P500 marked money and drug paraphernalia.

On Saturday evening, May 18, operatives of Police Station 4 also neutralized Dennis Villanueva and Joemil Dellave at Galo-Ramos, Barangay 22.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession 15 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 35 grams with an estimated market value of P309,000 and the P1,000 marked money.

Operatives of Police Station 6 led by Police Captain Elmer Bonilla arrested John Bombita and Joemarie Latombo in a separate operations at Barangays 30 and 33 on Saturday morning.

Police recovered from Bombita’s possession 40 sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P192,000 and the P1,000 marked money.

They also recovered from Latombo’s possession nine sachets of suspected shabu with estimated market value of P4,500 and the P300 marked money.

Operatives of Police Station 2 led by Police Captain Leo Estopa also arrested Fritz Mendoza, 29, and Shalemar Diola, 24, at Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2 at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday.

Police recovered from their possession three sachets of suspected shabu weighing 12 grams with an estimated market value of P150,000 and the P100 marked money.

The suspects are detained and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
