Brigada Eskwela starts May 20

THE Department of Education (DepEd) will kick off the weeklong Brigada Eskwela with the theme, "Mabuhay Na Bayan Para sa Maunlad na Paaralan” Monday, May 20.

DepEd-Division of Negros Occidental launched the activity on March 17 at Lopez Jaena National High School in Murcia and at Ilog Elementary School as well as Oplan Balik Eskwela at the Negros Occidental High School also on the same date.

Dennis Develos, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent said that Brigada Eskwela is Deped's way of bringing together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort and resources in order to prepare public school facilities ready for the opening of school year 2019-2020

Oplan Balik Eskwela, on the other hand, is another means of the department to ensure that problems, issues and other concerns commonly encountered by the public at the start of the school year are properly addressed through the convergence of the different partners that have a stake in the education sector.

Meanwhile, in the spirit of volunteerism and community service, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) will join the Deped 2019 Brigada Eskwela program nationwide on May 20 to 25, 2019.

This is the first time PDEA will participate in the yearly undertaking throughout the country.
