IN A heartwarming baptismal ceremony, all eyes were on Kelsey Jeanne Dy King, the second daughter of John and Karen, and younger sister to Karrie. Everyone who witnessed the service beamed with delight as Kelsey was welcomed into the Christian faith at the St. Francis Xavier Chapel of the Archdiocesan Shrine of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The ceremony was officiated by Fr. Vidal Gornez. Kelsey’s godfathers were Stanley Go, Kelie Ko, Philip Mendoza and Brandon Sy. Godmothers were Chriscille Tan-Dy, Marie “Rere” Dakay, Shelah Dychangco-Joaquino, Georgia Ludo and Judith Que Tan. All expressed their joy for being given an important life-long role!
Following a few words that had been delivered by Kelsey’s father, John, a buffet dinner awaited at the City Sports Club Cebu in one of the ballrooms that was elegantly decorated with gorgeous flowers, balloons and sweet treats on every table. Even a slide show featured Kelsey’s very special moments from the day she was born.
Dressed in a beautiful peach-pink laced dress with embroidery that complemented her mother Karen and sister Karrie, this beautiful event also doubled as a birthday party to celebrate yet another year for Loy King, Kelsey’s grandfather, who was presented with a personalized cake as the birthday song was sung by all!
“Your baptism is a step of obedience, a leap of faith and the beginning of a walk with the Lord that will last forever”—special words written by an author unknown.
