SWU Phinma sends teachers abroad for advanced education

STUDENTS aspiring to become the best that they can be deserve the best faculty. At Southwestern University (SWU) Phinma, enabling teachers to deliver quality instruction requires updated international education to keep up with the socially connected digital world.

Since 2017, under the management of Phinma Education, SWU Phinma has been sending and funding faculty members to pursue and complete postgraduate studies in schools abroad. In the process, the strength of the university's faculty is reinforced and students are guaranteed with industry-relevant and cutting-edge training that can help them realize their dreams.

To date, five teachers have already finished their advanced academic pursuits. Wilfredo Tiu and Rhomeljustein Redoble, both faculty members of the College of Rehabilitative Sciences, completed Master of Science in Rehabilitative Sciences from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in August 2017. From the same college department and enrolled in the same university abroad, Leonedes Catibod and Michael John Macaso finished Master of Science in Sports Physiotherapy in August 2018. Jo-ann Belotindos, from the College of Pharmacy, graduated from the International Medical University in Malaysia with a degree in Master of Science in Clinical Pharmacy.

Six more faculty members are still finishing their studies and are set to complete them within the year. Sergio Sarza, Jr. and Raul Ugalde from the College of Rehabilitative Sciences, are currently enrolled in a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy at Lorna Linda University in California. Mary Joy Villalon-dela Pena, a faculty member of the School of Medicine, will soon finish MS Professional Health Education at the University of Illinois.

Other faculty members currently abroad for postgraduate studies are Merly Baraclan from the College of Medical Technology, pursuing Master of Science in Immunology at the Mahidol University in Thailand; Ariel Manago, pursuing Master of Science in Molecular Genetics and Diagnostics at the University of Nottingham in England; and Junhel Delanon from the College of Dentistry, pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Dentistry major in Prosthodontics at teh Tokushima University in Japan.
