2 hurt in E.B. Magalona shooting

TWO persons were wounded in a shooting incident in Barangay San Isidro Proper, E.B. Magalona on Sunday, May 19.

The suspect was identified as Albert Malihoc alias “Bornok,” 31, and a resident of Sitio Haroy, Barangay Canlusong of the town.

The victims were identified as Gervacio Lamoyo, 43, single, a resident of Barangay San Isidro Proper and Noel Pastrana, 48, a resident of Barangay San Isidro Proper both from the same town.

Based on police report while the victims were inside the premises of the residence of Maribel Villaruel, the suspect armed with unknown caliber of firearm arrived and forcibly pushed the bamboo gate to open then shot the two victims.

Both victims sustained gunshot wounds on their right knee and right leg respectively and were brought to Teresita Provincial Hospital for medical treatment.

The suspect was arrested by the responding police and presently under the custody of E.B. Magalona Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

Prior to the incident, a commotion transpired at the said place between the group of the suspect and the relatives of the said victims while celebrating their barangay annual fiesta.

Meanwhile, a wanted person was arrested on Sunday, May 19, in Barangay Guinpana-an, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.

The suspect was identified as Gemma Babaran, 46, female, married, a resident of Barangay Guinpana-an, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.

Based on police report, the suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest signed by Hon. Mila D Yap-Camiso of the Regional Trial Court branch 74 in La Carlota City for crime on illegal numbers game.

The suspect is presently under the custody of Moises Padilla for proper disposition. (TDE)
