PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte, in his message to National Prisaa Games 2019 organizers, participants and guests, urged the athletes to inspire others with their feats.

"As you strive for victory in your respective categories, may the pride and honor you bring inspire others as well to realize their own potentials," Duterte said.

His message, which was sent to SunStar Davao Tuesday, May 21, was intended for SunStar Davao's eight-page National Prisaa Games 2019 supplement that was published Sunday, May 19, in time for the opening ceremonies.

Duterte said: "Let this annual gathering foster harmony and forge meaningful fellowships that will redound to the participants' successful endeavors outside this competition."

He also thanked the Private Schools Athletic Association for working side by side with various member-schools in harnessing the potential and in nurturing the capacity of student-athletes, trainers, coaches and other individuals in the area of physical education.

"By continuously providing platforms that foster their excellence in sports and other activities, you have paved a wider path for global competitiveness among the Filipino youth," the former Davao City mayor said.

He also said, "I trust that this gathering will not only promote sports development across the country but will also lead the way towards greater unity in our shared hope of a more dynamic young citizenry."

Duterte then wished everybody a successful event.
