Robbery suspect nabbed in Bacolod City

A SUSPECTED robber was arrested by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Mobile Patrol Group (MPG) at Purok Mahinawa-on, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City Monday afternoon, May 20.

Police identified the suspect as Jake Pineda, 34, of Barangay Villamonte.

Police Major Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Tuesday Pineda has an arrest warrant for robbery issued by Judge Edgar Tupas of Regional Trial Court, Bacolod City.

He said the suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 4 for failure to post his bail of P100,000.

Meanwhile, a theft suspect was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 8 at Transcom Parking Area in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City yesterday morning.

Police identified the suspect as Ames Abellar, 26, of Barangay 12.

Pico said Abellar was caught stealing the helmet of Dan Marc Chua, 30, of Barangay Estefania at about 6:30 a.m.

Police recovered from Abellar’s possession a helmet and Suzuki motorcycle.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 8. (MAP)
