Drought-affected farmers to receive rice aid

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the Office of the City Agriculturist, will distribute rice to farmers affected by the dry spell.

City Agriculturist Camencita Sanchez said that each of the identified farmer-beneficiaries will received six kilos of rice that will be distributed starting June.

Sanchez said that a total of 7,500 farmers are included in the master list of her office as beneficiaries of the rice distribution.

She said that coupons are now being distributed to the affected farmers for claiming of the DSWD assistance in the different agricultural field offices.

She added the agricultural field offices are located in the villages of Ayala, Tumaga, Culianan, Manicahan, Curuan and Vitali. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
