Anti-drug ops net 6, P31,000 ‘shabu’

ANTI-narcotics police operatives arrested six people, including a female fish merchant, and seized some P31,000 worth of suspected “shabu” in its continued anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police said Wednesday, May 22.

Police Brigadier General Emmanuel Licup identified the arrested drug personalities as Kasran Wahi, 29; Mannan Abubakar, 35; Laida Sahi, 30; Pauljhon Cajelo, 20; Abelardo Almonte, 32; and Raymond Montecino, 38.

Licup said Wahi, a fish merchant, was caught in possession of some P6,000 worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) packed in six heat-sealed plastic sachets and P300 marked money when arrested in a drug bust around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in Recodo village.

The Zamboanga Peninsula police director said that Abubakar and Sahi were arrested in another drug bust around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in Ayala village.

Licup said the two were caught in possession of some P25,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in 19 heat-sealed plastic sachets, P300 marked money and illegal drug paraphernalia.

He said Cajelo, Almonte, and Montecino were caught having pot session when Abubakar and Sahi were arrested.

He said appropriate charges are set to be filed against the arrested suspected drug personalities, who were detained. (SunStar Philippines)
