DIHANG ang nakoronahang si 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray misuot sa Tagakaolo Tribe-inspired skirt sa usa ka event sa New York, mas daghang tawo ang naka-appreciate sa kultura ug artes sa Mindanao.
Ang Davao-based award-winning fashion designer nga si Wilson Limon nga nag-design sa palda nga suot ni Gray nagkanayon nga nakabaligya na siya og mga 20 ka buok sa palda nga tag-P15,000 matag usa ug mas daghang orders pa ang nakalinya.
“Catriona Gray is truly an influencer. When she tagged me on Instagram, few days after, many people are inquiring about the skirt. We had 20 orders of the skirt and we were featured at the different news outfits so it is really a big help. Also, people are now advocating local designs,” ni Limon sa Habi at Kape media forum, Mayo 15.
Ang Tagakaolo Tribe-inspired skirt ang made-to-order ug sagad order gihimo sa online pinaagi sa ninofranco.ph, usa ka Davao City-based label nga gilusad ni Limon.
Ang clothing line naggamit og native fabrics ug pattern.
“Most of the orders are online through Instagram. So we give them the measurement guide kasi it has to be their specific measurement. If it’s that expensive naman, dapat kakasya talaga sa client. So far, all the measurements given are right, wala pa naman kaming na-repair so far,” niya pa.
“We do video calls now to assist the client in their measurements. Kasi with that price range, we would like to give the best,” dugang niya.
Ni Limon nga tungod sab niini daghang lumad ang mahataga’g oportunidad nga makatrabaho, ilabi na nga ang materyales gikan kanila.
“We want to engage the communities in the industry that is why we are going to design more on something contemporary like embroidery,” pung ni Limon.
