MAGALANG Mayor-elect Romulo Pecson has vowed to implement programs that will give regular allowances to all senior citizens and free medicines to indigent residents.

During a meeting with Pampanga Press Club (PPC) members at Park Inn by Radisson Clark on Tuesday, May 21, Pecson said these are the "campaign promises" of his team "Love Magalang," which is under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.

"All of them (elderly) will receive allowance. Number two is we will not let health centers run out of medicines. Those were our promises to our constituents," Pecson said.

He said the past administrations had been selective in giving perks to senior citizens and even residents asking for financial and medical assistance.

Pecson said these are the reasons why he ran again for mayor in Magalang, a first-class agricultural municipality.

During his term as mayor from 2009 to 2016, Pecson said even those who did not elect him benefitted from the local government's services and assistance.

"I saw their management style; that is why I returned," Pecson said.

Pecson defeated outgoing Mayor Malu Lacson of the Kambilan Party in the mayoralty race by only 27 votes. Pecson got 27,166, while Lacson earned 27,139 votes.
