La Trinidad's Golden Kayabang awards nomination opens

THE search is on for the La Trinidad Golden Kayabang Awards, which seeks to recognize the outstanding members of the community who have made considerable impact, contributions and honor to the town.

This year’s Golden Kayabang Award is set on June 14 during the 69th La Trinidad Foundation Day Awards.

The Golden Kayabang refers to a basket slung on the back where Indigenous Peoples in the Cordillera use to contain agricultural crops.

Nominees for the Golden Kayabang include those individuals and organizations with recommendation from any group or organization.

Nominees must also receive commendations by the Municipal Council through a resolution for exemplary and remarkable recognition in any categorized field from June 17, 2018 to June 14, 2019 preceding the La Trinidad Foundation Day celebration.

Nominees must also be a bonafide resident of the municipality of La Trinidad and must be based in the valley.

Individuals or groups who have never been awarded or recognized by the Municipal Government for the past five years in the same field can also be nominated.

For the Golden Kayabang award, nominees accomplishment must be exemplary and have made a significant impact on the community. Nominees must have also received recognitions or award from other awarding bodies aside from the local government unit of La Trinidad.

Previous year’s awardees include institutions, different organizations in the field of agriculture, business, education, fitness, health who had contributed to the growing development of the town.
