Duterte names new presidential adviser, special envoys

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has signed the appointment papers of his new presidential adviser and two special envoys, documents released by Malacañang on Thursday, May 23, 2019, showed.

Duterte named pastor Grepor Belgica as Presidential Adviser for Religious Affairs.

Belgica, a former city councilor who ran for senator in 2013, will receive a compensation rate of P1 per annum, based on his appointment paper.

Duterte also picked Fernando Borja as his special envoy to Japan for Business and Investment Promotion.

Borja will serve as Duterte's special envoy to Japan for six months.

Prior to his new appointment, Borja served as special envoy to China.

Duterte also re-appointed Almarim Tillah as special envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Tillah will stay in office until December 31 this year.
