AS ANOTHER season hits, new styles are in play. In a country that enjoys a tropical vibe all throughout the year, it’s always good to be on the lookout for new styles to update the wardrobe.
Bringing a fresh and new take on resort wear, Rustan’s recently introduced Lotus, its latest addition to its private label—and first resort wear brand—made with the tropics and travel in mind.
First launched at Rustan’s in Ayala Center Cebu, the new line promises stylish outfits in bright colors inspired by the sunny season, trimmed with playful embellishment for that right amount of festive and fun touch.
“We wanted [the brand] to exude a sense of peacefulness; a relaxed feeling, which is what we want to feel when we’re on vacation or out enjoying the outdoors. The clothes exude that kind of spirit: being free, loose and vibrant,” shared Pia Regala-Hebron, designer behind Lotus and Lady Rustan.
Its first Spring/Summer 2019 collection included cool vibes and summer must-haves from kaftans, flowy dresses to eye-catching cover-ups and sarongs, with accessories from footwear to bags made from woven rope materials completing the collection. It’s mostly inspired by travel, colors of the ocean, the sky, the sun and sunset—pretty much all the colorful things about summer. The fabrics are sourced locally and also from different parts of Asia.
More than projecting that summer vibe, the pieces are made for comfortable and carefree moments under the sun.
“We want to cater to everything that a woman, man and child would need, and we saw that opportunity especially for the Philippines when summer is almost the whole year. That’s what we found missing in our private brands,” she added about the creation of Lotus.
Lotus Resort Wear is located on the second level of Rustan’s, Ayala Center Cebu.
