Divine Mercy National Convention set in Cebu City

THE 23rd Divine Mercy Convention for Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will be held at the University of Cebu-Maritime Education and Training Center in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City on May 25-26, 2019.

The event carries the theme “Divine Mercy Transforming us into Gifted, Beloved and Empowered Children of God.”

The registration of delegates is free and it will start at 7 a.m. Saturday. Afterwards, the Sta. Faustina Kowalska Music Ministry (SFKMM) of Cagayan de Oro City will lead the praise and worship program.

Spiritual director Fr. Lucas Inco of Archdiocese of Cebu will start the morning session with an opening prayer and a welcome address.

Fr. Andrei Ventanilla will follow with his talk on “Mary, Mother of Divine Mercy, the Greatest Mother of the Youth.”

For his part, Fr. Jose Rizal Santos, SVD, will deliver his lecture titled “The Moral Responsibilities of the Social Media to the Youth of the World in line with Divine Mercy.” He is the spiritual adviser of Divine Mercy’s Japan chapter.

The morning session will end with a Mass presided by Fr. Lucas Inoc. His homily will center on the topic “Youth—the Hope of our Fatherland.”

The afternoon session will start at 12:30 p.m. with a praise and worship activity by the SFKMM.

At 3 p.m., a talk on family life will be delivered by Brother Jose Pempee Deguilmo, the head of the Couples for Christ in Southwestern Mindanao. The three o’clock prayer will be led by the Villavicencio family.

Testimonials from millennial parents and children will end the session.

On Sunday morning, SFKMM will open the session. Rene Josef Bullecer will follow and he will discuss the event’s theme.

Bullecer is a member of the pontifical council on health care in Vatican City.

Fr. Rudy Bugna, OSA, will end the session with his talk titled “Divine Mercy our Source of Hope.”

The afternoon session will be opened by SFKMM. Fr. Andy Satura, SDE, then will deliver his talk titled “Divine Mercy our Source of Conversion for the Youth Today,” while Fr. Cresencio Ubod, CAPA, will end the session with a Mass.
