Reaching out: Medical mission for Valladolid, DSB residents

AT LEAST 1,248 residents in Valladolid and in Don Salvador Benedicto (DSB) availed the medical services extended by Vallacar Transit, Inc. (Ceres) and Olivia V. Yanson (OVY) Educational and Health Care Foundation, Inc., in partnership with the municipalities of Don Salvador Benedicto and Valladolid, Philippine Dental Association, University of Sto. Tomas medical team, Multi-specialty doctors, Alpha Coy of 79th IB and Charlie of 12th Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army.

The DSB medical mission was held at its covered court on May 17-18, with 647 beneficiaries availing the various health services while the Valladolid medical mission was held on April 14, 2019 at Sea Breeze Park with 601 residents availing the said services.

DSB Mayor Marxlen de la Cruz and Valladolid Mayor Enrique Miravalles welcomed the said medical missions.

The 647 residents of DSB availed the free medical, dental, circumcision, haircut, and massage services.

The OVY Foundation and VTI provided food and medicine to the patients.

Dr. Jam Santos of the UST Medical Team led the circumcision, distribution of school supplies and gave seminar on health awareness, nutrition and immunization program.

The Alpha Company of the 79th Infantry Battalion and 3rd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army under 1st Lt. Dansan Camua rendered massage and hair-cut to the beneficiaries.

In Valladolid, the beneficiaries availed various services such as dental and medical consultations, tooth extraction, circumcision and seminar about diabetes.

Food and medicines were also provided by the OVY Foundation, Inc.

Olivia Yanson, matriarch of the Yanson Group of Bus Companies said, “It is heart-breaking to see that some people have limited access to medical care and suffer endlessly from illnesses. This medical mission is our humble contribution to spread health awareness to the less-fortunate people of this province.”
