A TOTAL of 289 inmates were tested negative during the series of random drug tests conducted in different jails in the province Thursday, May 23, 2019.
No drugs were seized nor detected during the tight greyhound operations in line with the province-wide jail cleansing through search and seizure operations conducted by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Occidental Provincial Office (PDEA-Nocppo) together with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and Bacolod City Philippine National Police (PNP).
Greyhound Operation was conducted in Metro Bacolod City District Jail Male Dorm Annex located in Barangay Taculing Bacolod City on May 19 at 2:35 p.m., where 172 out of 860 inmates were subjected to random drug tests.
Earlier, about 1:00 p.m. of the same date, PDEA-Nocppo together with the BJMP and Silay PNP also conducted Greyhound Operation at Silay City Jail, Silay City Negros Occidental, where random testing was conducted among 53 out of 267 inmates.
Previously, at around 9:30 in the morning of the same date, the same team together with the Victorias PNP selected 41 out of 207 inmates to undergo random drug testing after the conduct of search and seizure operation at the Victorias City Jail, Victorias City Negros Occidental.
At 7:52 a.m. earlier that date, the PDEA-Noppo and BJMP together with the Talisay PNP conducted greyhound operation at Talisay City Jail, Talisay City Negros Occidental, where 23 out of 116 inmates were subjected to random drug tests. (TDE)
