Chacapna: The rise and fall of the bocatots, part two

IT HAS to be said. Again, that twice a year inset program, I can’t help but write it on - what the majority public school teachers keep on complaining by way of tantrums to outburst including outcry. Let me help by spilling it out – “kumalyu ti ubet”.

The inset until this day remains to be the useless, milking cow endeavor – the policy and program makers in DepEd believe to be otherwise.

Useless? For teachers are made to sit in an eight-hour turmoil in days.

Hence, were not listening to speakers for topics were excessively monotonous. Milking cow? Because personal funds to states funds were spent fruitlessly since day one to the last day.

Poor public-school teachers, they will always wait for that miracle thing to happen – that the planning of the activity shall be given to them. And not just to some Bocatot school administrators and supervisors who believe in their own idea being exceptional against the rest. Superiority complex is the old cancer plaguing the public-school system. When will this five-day inset reverted into an enjoyable vacation as what the Magna Carta speaks?

While your pondering, let me continue with the story of Morris Fall.

When Morris started working as Mayor of the mountainous city, he was so prepared with all the qualified men and women at city hall.

Streets ridden of pickpockets, roads widened, illegal vendors given the chances to sell lawfully, and treasury funds raised were some of the accomplishments. In three terms Morris made the Mountainous city one of the cleanest and greenest city in the entire archipelago. His term as mayor was about to end but his passion for public service remains high.

And so, he decided to gun down the lone congress seat in the city. Taking it was not as easy considering the strength of his formidable political foes. But he relied on the wisdom of his strategists. Division of labor in all barangays was the common consensus starting day one of the campaign until proclamation.

Meanwhile in my story of the Mountainous province, Max Rise was so determined to take the Congress seat vacated by his father, Max Senior. He called on Mayor Lino of the east for his continuous support to the family. However, Mayor Lino taught of taking also the congressional seat, since time immemorial, the east has not produced any congressman.

Given the chance that there were five aspirants in the west plus he has the ability to solidify the eastern votes even if it is just a quarter of the total votes. Dismayed, Max Rise called on all his brilliant elders for some advice. Surprisingly not only brilliant elders came to the rescue but “cunning contractors” as well. At par excellence of all is “Ankle Pikli”, in spite of his misunderstanding with Max Senior, still feels oblige to help. Family first before anyone else must be considered.

Max Rise brought out his plan to the elders, that is, convincing Lino to withdraw. But Ankle Pikli, wise as he was, taught that Lino’s bid is advantageous since it will divide the votes intended for Captain Peter – his closest rival in the west. Ankle Pikli went on reflecting that if his nephew Max Rise will win, He must bring the “trojan horse” to the east.

At this point former congressman Thor was turning in his grave, sensing that his nephew Captain Peter might lose again in the election.
