Del Rosario: LFGS – Part 2

HERE is the continuation of last week’s article – LFGS – Part 1 (Lead... for God’s sake.) More learnings I would like to share from the Heart:

Team members must have the will to achieve the goal or mission; have the WILL to win and achieve, love for each other, and passion to perform one’s role.

“Passion is an emotion sparked by the right attitude toward the right pursuits.” We can be passionate about new cars, new toys, new gadgets, beautiful women etc., but are the “things” you are passionate about, selfishly, or greedily rooted?

“Passion is a choice, a choice that should follow our commitment to our purpose; not purpose following passion. (Another idea that got me thinking.)”

Instead of choosing a career that you are passionate about, pursue passionately a purposeful life. (Food for serious thought)

Embrace your position – Wherever you are today, embrace it! Do not focus on where you will be someday or how you can become what you dream of becoming someday. “Commit to living out your purpose today, being the best you can be right where you are.”

“We are called to be our very best in everything we do”. “You are where you are for a reason. You can either learn to EMBRACE it and be your best or reject it and drag your feet through the rest of your life. The only problem with the latter approach is God may just want to see what you can do where you are, before He trusts you to go where you want to be.” (Beautifully written and thought provoking)

Ministry is a full time job wherever you are, wherever you work. (One does not have to quit one’s secular job to minister to others)

Develop a work ethic and have a moral compass to enhance God’s gifts to you. My take is, your compass consists of your values, which should be morally sound otherwise they will point you towards the wrong direction. Inappropriate behavior follows an inaccurate compass.

There are two major pains in this life: The Pain of Discipline and the Pain of Regret. Choose to be disciplined.

Proverbs 3:11-12 says, “My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those He loves, as a father the son he delights in.”

Choose not to regret. (As I always say, if you have given your best, there is no room for regrets. Give your best each time. Exhaust all means. Consider All Options.)

Live like you are dying. (Live as though you are living the last days of your life)

Listen to hearts. Listen to the hearts of those God has put into your life.

(Perhaps, it includes reading between the lines, and listening to what is left unsaid. This I have to work on.)

To sum it all up:

“Lead from the heart, for the right reasons. Lead... for God’s Sake!”

My dearest Michael, family, and team members in the organization,

Wouldn’t you wish to have Todd Gongwer and Rick Warren, the author of the Purpose-Driven Life book, as your Life coaches and mentors? They can be, if we LEARN AND APPLY what they have shared.

Truly, both men have shared from their Hearts and Heads.

They have both imparted timeless wisdom.

Let their words be guideposts and reminders as we go thru life, living and leading from the heart.

While I thought it would be easy to summarize what Todd discussed. I was wrong. I had to reread major portions of his book to do justice to all the truths contained therein.

The same thing happened when I tried to video my inputs on what Rick Warren shared from his book.

May you and I benefit from their common sharing to live purposefully, and from Todd, to lead from the Heart, and to Lead... for God’s Sake (LFGS)!
