JOHN Galindo ruled the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) Monthly Qualifying Tournament on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center.
Galindo finished with a total score of 1,261 to secure the crown and the slot to the Cetba Bowler of the Year Tournament set in December.
The 20-handicapper Galindo scored the day’s best 215 in the fifth game to break away from the other bowlers before capping off the six-round tournament with 183.
Galindo had a pair of 192s in the second and fourth games to go along with his 183 and 176 in the first and third games.
Senior bowler Ed Dilla, a 30-handicapper, finished 20 points behind and settled for second place, while Ronan Barredo came up with a total of 1,239 points for third place.
Dilla registered scores of 200, 196, 165, 187, 137 and 176, while the 20-handicapper Barredo put up scores of 162, 180, 165, 171, 218 and 223, respectively.
Barredo tried to mount a fightback in the final two rounds only to come two-point short to Dilla and 22 points behind the eventual winner Galindo.
Senior bowler Danny Sabang occupied the fourth spot with 1,237 and the rising young bowler and the 2018 Cetba Bowler of the Year Joshua Galarse finished at fifth place with 1,227 points.
Completing the Top 10 are Roland Bantilan with 1,213, Jake Yap with 1,209, Docdoc Gothong with 1,180, Marvin Sevilla with 1,179 and female bowler Baby Bacon with 1,147. (RSC)
