THE City Government of Bacolod held the second annual Chicken Inasal festival along Araneta Street, Bacolod City on May 25, 2019.

Three thousand sticks of chicken inasal were partaken by the senior citizens and other guests in a 300-meter long boodle fight.

Everybody ate the chicken inasal by their hands.

City government employees helped in the grilling of the chicken. There were 30 sellers of the chicken inasal who participated in the festival by showcasing their own recipe of the dish.

Bacolod City Councilor Cindy Tan-Rojas, who chairs the second Inasal Festival, spearheaded the conduct of the festival where she was joined by her fellow officials Bacolod City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya, Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Councilors Em L. Ang, Bartolome Orola and Councilor-elect Israel Salanga who served as the festival director.

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia sent his greetings to all who participated in the event through Councilor Rojas as he was not able to come because it was also the scheduled burial of his elder sister Perla Leonardia.

But the festival went on with his marching order.

Meanwhile, aside from the chicken inasal, one of the add-on features of the festival was the parade of some individuals who wore their respective chicken inasal-inspired fantasy costume.

Miss Ariana Corpuz won in the fantasy costume competition. His designer Tamira Ivonne Willis used some chicken feathers to his colorful costume.

Florentino Edubos, Jr. won second runner-up. Marvin Joeven Amor won third runner-up with Mike Guitche as his designer.

Corpuz thanked the City of Bacolod and her designer for the opportunity to join the competition.

A Zumba dance party was held after the program.
