Man shot dead in Bacolod

A 28-YEAR-OLD man was shot to death at Purok Tangigue, Barangay 1, Bacolod City on Saturday, May 25.

Police identified the fatality as Joema Gabaleo, of Barrangay 1.

Police Major Ariel Pico, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office, said Gabaleo went outside their house around 1:50 a.m. when a certain Aries Mapa fired at him several times using unidentified firearm.

Gabaleo sustained multiple wounds and was brought to a hospital but did not survive, while the suspect fled.

Pico said operatives of Police Station 2 are still conducting follow-up operation to arrest the suspect.

Meanwhile, operatives of Bacolod City Police Office arrested a frustrated murder suspect at Purok Sawmill 3, Barangay 3 on Saturday evening.

Police identified the suspect as Archie Capun-an, of Barangay 3.

Pico said Capun-an has an arrest warrant for frustrated murder issued by Judge Fernando Elumba of Regional Trial Court Branch 42 in Bacolod City.

The suspect are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 for failure to post his bail of P200, 000.
