Central Luzon tops press conference

SHOUTS and cheers resounded in Tagum Grand Arena when Central Luzon was hailed over-all champion in the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) held at Tagum City, Davao Del Norte on February 21 to 27.

The region was able to defend its NSPC crown for three consecutive years.

Points from three contest categories were added: Group for the school papers and Individual Writing and Broadcasting. Central Luzon emerged as the top region for both elementary and secondary levels.

In the Individual Contests category, the region was named champion in the secondary level and first runner-up in the elementary level.

Angeles City and Bataan Division participants of the region received special awards in Broadcasting English and Filipino.

The Division of Pampanga contributed more in the Group Contest Category and San Jose Del Monte Division dominated the Individual Writing Contest.

Central Luzon retired director Mario Ramirez, who celebrated his 65th birthday last February 20, said: “It was not luck that made the region won but the concerted efforts and hard work of the 17 divisions.” (Violeta G. Cordova/DepEd Division of Pampanga)
