CA magistrate appointed to Supreme Court

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has promoted Court of Appeals Associate Justice Henri Jean Paul Inting to the Supreme Court (SC).

Inting was appointed as the new SC magistrate on February 22, based on his appointment paper signed by Duterte.

He replaced then SC Associate Justice Lucas Bersamin, who was appointed Chief Justice in November 2018.

Inting, who hails from Davao, completed his law degree at Ateneo de Davao University. He has served as CA justice since 2012.

He also served as senior corporate attorney of the National Housing Authority Government Corporation in 1983, CA supervising staff assistant in 1984, and public attorney from 1986 to 1995.

He later became prosecutor at the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office and was also appointed as presiding judge of the Quezon City Municipal Trial Court.

Palace released Inting's appointment paper just on Tuesday, May 28. (Ruth Abbey Gita/SunStar Philippines)
