GOLDEN couple Alex and Loreta Dytian were honorees at a dinner reception in Oakridge organized by grateful children John, Derek and Lorraine in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. The evening affair started with a Thanksgiving Mass followed by a program participated in by family members. Grandson Joseph gave the invocation while granddaughters Alessa and Alison did song and dance numbers. Only daughter Lorraine dedicated a song for her parents. As for the Dytian sons, John and Derek, they gave tributes to Mom and Dad. Loretta's eldest brother Philip Huang also gave a speech.


All set to start a new term as governor of our beloved province is lady achiever Gwen Garcia who doesn't seem to get tired. She has lost weight after the hectic campaign but not her enthusiasm to work and achieve her goals for Cebu.


Dinner parties marked the birthdays of Tita Nena Garcia who was honored with an intimate celebration at the Montebello Glass House; and Nita Chiongbian who happily welcomed well-wishers at the Cebu Country Club.


After having lived in Indonesia for some years, Tina Skrobanek and Gina Atienza learned to appreciate its native arts and handicrafts and soon began collecting them. When they had more than enough, they started to dispose of the duplicates. A few weeks back, they organized an exhibit sale at 32 Sanson in Lahug highlighting products from Bali. The opening affair was marked by cocktails and a fashion show by the poolside.


The newest member of the culinary team of Marco Polo Plaza's Chinese resto Hai Shin Lou, is Dim Sum Chef Wong Hon Chau who has had 40 years of experience in dim sum preparation in different parts of Asia. He is on top of the restaurant's Dim Sum Lunch Party, an "All You Can Eat" Dim Sum from Mondays to Saturdays at P688+ per head.

Another new promo at Hai Shin Lou is the "Lunch break specials" which offers specially curated menus for groups of two to six persons at very reasonable prices, available from Mondays to Fridays, except for holidays. Other chefs holding court at the Cantonese resto are Chef Raymund Hui and Chef Chan.
