Gacad: Better sweet

THE NBA's top two teams are now prepping themselves up for the 2018-2019 NBA finals to determine who will be crowned champion. The Warriors are well rested after that phenomenal sweep of Portland while the Raptors are still celebrating after clinching the East plum with that historic game 6 win over the Greek freak and the Bucks. Sweet victories for both teams. They absolutely deserve to be where they are right now. That's actually what Bran the Broken said. Rip City and the Bucks? It may still be a sour atmosphere over there now but for whatever it's worth, they have done a fantabulous job just by getting this far. It's ok to be sour! (huwag lang bitter). Unlike the elections here, these losing teams do not feel cheated!

I have a good friend -- Abogadong Tarabitab and I call him Ei Ti (AT) for short. Actually d=g so just do the substitution yourself because my editor would certainly edit it if I did it here in this missive. His monicker was given by a very bitter loser who went to FB to rant about how their family name was destroyed during the campaign period resulting to their defeat. Accordingly, AT was one of the "fake newsmen" who disseminated negative information about their candidate. It was a special treat reading the thread of their "love-filled conversation" and it felt sweet just knowing how bitter the loser was (mabuti na lang hindi nanalo!) In fact, the true colors of the "bitter-half" (orig ko yan tarabits ah, haha) was clear. Everyone was waiting for their season finale episode with much more enthusiasm than GoT's Season 8. Unfortunately AT is equal to KJ!

June 30 would be the last working day of the previous elected officials, including the graduating 12 Senators. Since it's still within "season," let me greet all of you a happy graduation! I'm extremely disappointed with the turnout in the senatorial derby particularly for the two bullet-proof pinoy super heroes in the silver screen that made it but hey, that's the voice of the people. AT (read KJ) and the party he was campaigning for didn't win either but at least they were true statesmen and women. They humbly accepted defeat and called for healing and unity to help the winning candidates in their platforms. No ifs no buts! The losers? Man, they were so bitter!

Now tell me is it better bitter? Better sour? Or is it better sweet?

"Let today be the day you stop being haunted by the ghost of yesterday. Holding a grudge & harboring anger/resentment is poison to the soul. Get even with people...but not those who have hurt us, forget them, instead get even with those who have helped us." ~ Steve Maraboli

"You have to accept your fate; do it without bitterness and stay humble." ~ Anthony Scaramucci
