3 nabbed in anti-drug ops

THREE persons were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Negros Occidental on May 26 and 27.

On May 27, the police arrested Elijah Deocaris, 32, of Barangay Buenavista in Escalante City. His house was raided by virtue of a search warrant for loose firearms.

Police recovered from him a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine loaded with seven live ammunition placed inside his bag, 16 sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P8,000, an improvised tooter, and a lighter.

On the same day, Harold Granada Jr., 21, of Barangay Aguisan in Himamaylan City was arrested.

Granada allegedly yielded in a drug bust four sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,500, the P500 marked money, and P85 in cash.

On May 26, Lysander Discutido, 55, of Barangay Zone 6, Talisay City was arrested in another drug bust at the said village.

Recovered from the suspect were nine sachets of suspected shabu worth P25,000, the P300 marked money, and P500 in cash.

The suspects are facing appropriate charges mostly violations to Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (EPN)
