THE France-Philippines United Action Foundation (FPUA) inaugurated Tuesday, May 28, a 60-square-meter multipurpose center in Bogo City.

The multipurpose center was built in January 2018 and was completed in February this year. The construction was made possible through funding from the German Embassy Manila, Cités-Unies France, World Wide Food Distribution, JEFPAG Foundation, Moët Hennessy Philippines, as well as support from Republic Cement and Onduline Philippines.

It is intended to provide a safe place and venue for the community to come together for fellowship, recreation, education, and social interaction, said the FPUA in a press release.

The center is also "a place where people could hold meetings or hold functions. It will also be a venue for FPUA to continue its community-enrichment activities, training, seminars, health missions, and others. It could also serve as an evacuation center in times of calamity," it added.

The FPUA said the inauguration Tuesday, May 28, was also an opportunity for the foundation and its partners to share upcoming development programs that will benefit the community.

On December 2, 2017, the FPUA inaugurated the third rehabilitation site for victims of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in northern Cebu.

With a land donation from the local government of Bogo and the funding of Cités Unies France, it was able to build 46 disaster resilient houses in Barangay Cayang, Bogo City.

The multipurpose center inaugurated Tuesday was just one of FPUA's commitments to help the community.

The foundation also announced that starting June, it will launch together with its partner, Nutriset, a nutrition program to educate the parents and improve the nutritional status of children between 0-5 years old.

In line with the First 1000 days law, FPUA and Nutriset will contribute to the proper growth and development of children and mothers during this crucial period of life, the press release stated. (PR)
