SI MARA Amit o Marvin Amit sa tinuod nga kinabuhi ang nidaug nga Queen of Liloan karong tuiga, ang gay pageant nga nagsilbing usa sa mga dagkong kalihukan sa kapistahan sa Poblacion Liloan nga nagselebrar karong adlawa, Huwebes, Mayo 30. Gawas sa maong titulo, nadaug sad ni Mara ang special awards nga “Best Advocacy” ug “Best in Runway.” Way duda usa siya sa mga gidayeg ug inspirasyon karon sa LGBT community sa Liloan. Ngano kaha ikaw ang napiling Queen of Liloan?
Ang LGBT community sa Liloan nagkadako ug nagkinahanglan nga dunay morepresent sa ilang vision. More than winning is my strong will to serve my brothers and sisters in the LGBT group which I was able to clearly convey during the pageant. My advocacy is centered to address proper social behavior of each member of the LGBT community.
Unsa diay saktong social behavior sa LGBT?
LGBTs are not different from any ordinary men and women. Dapat i-maintain lang gyud ang pagka-disente sa atong pang lihok-lihok. Most importantly, always keep self-respect.
Unsay common problem nga giatubang ninyo karon?
Daghan like discrimination, injustices ug uban pa pero ang pinakadako namu nga giatubang karun kay ang gubot within the group. Daghang conflicts among the members sa LGBT. Dapat magkahiusa mi tanan. Instead of embracing insecurities and crab mentality, dapat sensitive enough and united to address more important matters sa amoa grupo and that’s to promote SOGIE (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression) Equality.
As queen of Liloan unsaon nimo pagtabang aron mas molambo pa ang munisipalidad?
To work hand in hand with our LGU headed by Mayor Christina Frasco. I’ll participate sa tanang activities sa Liloan para makita sa tanan nga visibility and being active is the key para makatabang sa mga proyekto sa lungsod. Daghan na sad mi og plano sa amu federation headed by our very active President Benjie Vanzuela.
How do you describe yourself?
I am a very positive person. Gusto ra jud naku nga everytime I am in a group happy conversation lang ug walay nega. I love to join pageants and have joined several pageants across Visayas and Mindanao.
Unsay uban pa nimong title?
I won Queen of Oras 2018 in Eastern Samar, Queen Of Maripipi Island 2018 in Maripipi Island Biliran, ug Queen of Pinamopoan 2018 in Pinamopoan Leyte.
Are you in favor of sex change?
Sex change is a personal choice. Wala gyud nay problema naku kay even me, naa koy plano magpa-sex change.
Are you in favor of same sex marriage?
Same sex union ang gusto naku nga mapasar nga balaod. We do not need any religious marital ceremony sa church to pay respect to religious faith. Ang gusto lang jud namu kay to have civil right to conjugal and family life.
Are you in a relationship?
I am single. The last time I was in a relationship kay last November pa of 2018.
Uyon ka nga moapil ang transgender sa Miss U?
Mas nindot kon padak-on lang namo ang amoang beauty pageant. Taas man gud kaayo ako respeto sa mga naturally-born women and I don’t think ready na ang tanan para ana. Para nako mas well celebrated mi sa among own pageants.
If given the chance unsay dream nimo apilan nga pageant?
Ganahan jud ko makaapil og Queen Philippines. I consider it the most presitigious pageant in the country today.
Bring me to the time nga ni-come out ka as gay?
It never came rough. Ni-totally come out ko when I was in college and I had full support from my family. And pinaka nindot nga advice from my father kay okay ra ang mag trans basta lang dili mag-eskandalo sa publiko. My father just wanted me to live a normal life like ordinary men and women.
Unsa pa’y gusto nimong ma-achieve?
I’m busy preparing for a business I want to run. Gusto ko nga mahimong successful business woman. At present, nag-work ko sa BPO company sa IT Park as supervisor.
